The Lord's Church

A People Belonging to God (1 Peter 2:9-10)

About Us

We are a small non-denominational church that meets in Greenbelt, Maryland. We invite you to join us on Sunday mornings from 9:30 am to 10:15 am for Adult Bible Study and Children's Sunday School, and from 10:30 am to 12:00 noon for worship.

We are a very diverse congregation with people from many different cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds. Our religious heritage includes aspects of the American restoration movement, but our overall goal is to be a solid Biblical church aimed at helping people, including ourselves, become authentic, healthy, committed disciples of Jesus Christ. Some of our members have participated in Promise Keepers, Family Life Ministries Marriage Conferences, silent retreats at the Dayspring Retreat Center, various outreach ministries and other activities that can help one build faith and become a better follower of Jesus Christ.

Come and worship with us.

What To Expect

We are a small diverse church - only about 60 in attendance on a typical Sunday.  We currently practice a capella singing, primarily with contemporary praise and worship music (example songs, "Lord We Lift Your Name on High", "Open the Eyes of My Heart Lord"), and we show the words of the songs on a screen using PowerPoint. Most people dress casually, and we are friendly, but not overly intrusive. We practice the Lord's supper each week, but we only have a public offering once a month - the last Sunday of the month. We have a children's worship time during the sermon (which we call "Children's Fellowship") for children from 1st through 5th grade, and there is a break between congregational singing and the sermon when the children are dismissed to participate in Children's Fellowship.
